There will be a survey insert in the bulletin and in the pews at Mass this weekend for you to fill out and choose your preference. Cocktails After Mass
Young Adults (ages 21-39): You are invited to join other Young Adults in a social setting. "Cocktails after Mass" meets every last Saturday of the month after the 5pm Mass at a local establishment. Join us in fellowship and companionship. Meet in the back of the church, then head to Young Farms, Gwin Girls Winery, or Remus Tavern.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults classes begin soon. If you are considering joining the Catholic Church, then this is the program for you. There is no commitment, just inquiring about Catholicism. Click here for more information
In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Blessed Pope Pius IX’s declaration of St. Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church, Pope Francis has proclaimed a special “Year of St. Joseph.” It is a wonderful opportunity to increase our love for St. Joseph and knowledge, “to encourage us to implore his intercession and to imitate his virtues and his zeal" (Patris Corde). Here are some ways to celebrate in your Catholic home.
December 22, 2021
Dear Friends in Christ,
The Nativity of the Lord and the Christmas season is a time when many Catholics come back to Mass. Our
priests look forward to seeing you!
In light of rising COVID case numbers and increased attendance at Mass during this season, I am once again
strongly encouraging you to wear a mask while attending Mass.
Your cooperation in this regard will ensure that we can welcome as many as possible to
our upcoming liturgical celebrations.
Our health care providers are pleading for help in fighting this pandemic.
Wearing a mask while attending Mass and getting vaccinated are two ways in which we can explicitly show our respect for human life and our commitment to the common good.
The pandemic has changed and challenged us. Its impact continues to be felt.
But we are reminded in a special way this week that God is with us and always will be.
Wishing you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas
and Happy New Year!
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Most Reverend David J. Walkowiak
Bishop of Grand Rapids
In Support of Bishop Walkowiak's Letter above;
The parishioners of St Michael Parish Strongly suggest wearing a mask and taking social distancing precautions while attending, participating and celebrating all the masses with us. We have masks available and sanitizing stations at both entrance doors. Please help us ensure a safe environment for all in attendance and we appreciate your cooperation as we continue to our stand against Covid-19.
Have a Safe and Happy New Year!
